The ITENE research center will gather the leading international packaging experts in the most important scientific and technological congress of the sector, the IAPRI World Packaging Conference, from 17 to 21 June 2024, on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the research centre.

The 24th edition of this scientific event is expected to be attended by more than 150 international researchers and experts, as well as 400 attendees from companies and research centres from all over the world.

The IAPRI World Conference organised by ITENE will take place at the SH Valencia Palace hotel in Valencia, and is open to researchers, academics, industry professionals and packaging students from around the world. Attendees, who can already purchase their tickets through the conference website (https://iapri2024.itene.com), will be able to discover the innovations and trends that are transforming the packaging industry, network with leading industry professionals and experts and discover ITENE from the inside on its 30th anniversary.

Business and research professionals interested in presenting their innovations to an international audience can submit abstracts via the 24th IAPRI World Packaging Conference website until 19 November, after which those selected by the Scientific Committee will be able to make an oral presentation or create a poster to be presented at the conference. In addition, these papers will be published in a special book.

The conference is open to papers on all aspects of packaging, distribution and logistics. In particular, key topics include packaging materials, product packaging and packaging technologies, packaging machinery and technologies, packaging design and development, packaging for goods distribution, packaging for dangerous goods and chemicals, and sustainability of packaging in the supply chain.

Javier Zabaleta, Managing Director of ITENE, expressed his enthusiasm for the IAPRI World Packaging Conference in 2024: “This event is a unique opportunity to showcase ITENE’s innovation and expertise in the field of packaging. We look forward to welcoming the international community to Valencia and sharing knowledge to advance the research and development of the future packaging”.

The conference will start on 17 June 2024, when the welcome reception and tours of the ITENE facilities will take place. Also, between 18 and 19 June, the presentations and poster exhibition will take place, after which the last sessions, the IAPRI General Assembly and the awards ceremony will take place on 20 June. Finally, the meeting will end on 21 June, when attendees will once again have the opportunity to visit ITENE’s facilities.

There will also be tours around the city of Valencia and social meetings, as well as an official dinner to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the technology centre.
