Testing services at ITENE laboratories and pilot plants

ITENE provides testing and certification services in its laboratories, accredited by the main certification agencies. We work in a range of fields such as packaging materials and safety, packaging certification for the carriage of dangerous goods, transport load simulations for distribution in a variety of weather conditions to optimise packaging systems and prevent product loss, as well as the capacity to transform materials and packaging in composting and biodegradation processes.

In addition, we also test packaging performance, according to its intended uses, and verify the effectiveness of respiratory protection equipment, such as face masks, during exposure to pathogens, chemical agents, particulate matter and nanoparticles in the workplace.

ITENE has world-class laboratories and pilot plants that perform over 500 types of tests.

Testing services for the analysis of packaging materials, both polymeric (conventional plastics and biopolymers) and cellulosic (paper, cardboard and corrugated board).

Testing services for verifying, the safety of materials in contact with food, cosmetics or pharmaceuticals, including migration analysis or NIAS assessment.

Testing services for the analysis of primary packaging, including characterisation of packaging and opening systems
using standardised methods and test protocols.

Testing services of compostability accredited by ENAC n its four phases according to EN 13432. Test reports recognised by TÜV AUSTRIA, DIN CERTCO, BPI and European Bioplastics to obtain the main industrial compostability and home compostability certifications.

Testing services for packaging assessment and validation for horticultural use (cardboard and plastic), industrial packaging and box pallets (cardboard, plastic, metal and wood) and pallets.

Testing services for transport simulation for traditional and e-commerce distribution, to assess accelerations, vibrations and shocks, as well as environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.) affecting goods during distribution to prevent damage and product loss.

Testing services for ¡ packaging certification for the carriage of dangerous goods and infectious substances by road, rail, maritime and air (ADR, RID, IMDG, ICAO and IATA).

Testing services and studies for toxicity assessment of nanomaterials and micro- and nanoplastics, as well as additives and ingredients used in relevant areas such as packaging, cosmetics and hygiene, biocides or plant protection products.
