The Technological Institute of Packaging, Transport and Logistics (ITENE), will exhibit its solutions at Empack Oporto (21 and 22 September), a trade fair that brings together the latest trends and technologies in packaging, packaging, transport and logistics.

Specifically, at ITENE’s booth, our experts will transfer to interested companies the own methodology to identify and measure new business opportunities based on technology and how to place it on the market with financial funding, for example, from the European Union.

In this regard, more than 50% of the companies advised by ITENE from the start of the SME instrument of Horizon 2020 call, in June 2014, have obtained grant for launching innovative products.

GEPACK Business Case

As proof of this, the Operations Director of the Portuguese firm GEPACK, Ligia Passos, and the director of ITENE in Madrid, Mercedes Hortal, will present on September 21st "New business based on packaging innovation", included in the conference programme of Sala Empack.

ITENE will explain the methodology for identifying innovative and market-oriented ideas. Meanwhile, the leader GEPACK will explain first-hand experience in developing innovative packaging solution, whose project obtained approval in Phase 1 of the H2020 SME Instrument.

E-commerce route

ITENE Research centre is also involved in the new "E-commerce Route", which includes all brands specialized in e-commerce solutions. ITENE offers companies integral optimized design of packaging systems that respond to the risks and characteristics of the e-commerce distribution needs.

To do this, ITENE analyses real distribution environment of each product and the packaging system is validated at the Transport Simulation Centre with different trials, as drop, vibration, shock or compression tests, depending on each case and need.

Finally, at the booth D4, ITENE will exhibit its latest technologies, as the development of new sustainable and active materials, which extend the shelf life of foods and cosmetics, among others.
