ITENE launches the Startups Accelerator for young people

The research center has participated in the week of European venture (Startup Europe Week) in the city of Valencia.

This activity was attended by the deputy of European projects of the Provincial Council of Valencia, Bartolome Nofuentes, who spoke about the new strategy of the council of Valencia, focused on issues such as innovative sales support for entrepreneurship, training young talent to return to the territory and European projects as an opportunity for financing innovation in municipalities.

The call Startup Europe Accelerator 2016 was presented by the director of European Funds of Finnova, Juan Viesca, who also encouraged the audience to consider European projects as a way to finance innovation, in particular the SME Instrument, whose next call is 24 February. He also noted other aids such as Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs, from which they can benefit both entrepreneurs and already established companies. Vanessa Delmer, Head of Business Development of the Packaging, Transport and Logistics Research Center (ITENE) presented the "Accelerator technology-based startups" initiative aimed at young researchers under 35 who wish to come back to Spain and contribute the development of innovative projects in the field of food technology, materials, the packaging, sustainability, ICT and logistics.

Then Javier Peris, an expert in governance and management of ICT projects, told attendees in a dynamic discussion, the importance of analyzing the risks when starting an entrepreneurial project, because few of them focus on this aspect that can lead to failure of a company.

The Startup Europe Week took place in Europe during the week of 1 to 5 February. Is supported by the Committee of the Regions and Startup Europe, under the initiative of the European Commission which aims to connect projects and people across the EU. Thus, the Startup Europe Week was created to incorporate the current entrepreneurial climate performance of the regions to boost innovative local policies and the diversity of the different territories.
