On 12th & 13th November ITENE participates in the new edition of EmTech Spain 2014 that will be held in Valencia, an important event globally in emerging technologies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

EmTech Spain will take place at the Reina Sofia Palace in the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia. It embraces more than 30 national and international experts in the development of leading technology and they will discuss with an specialized audience of 600 people made up of students, entrepreneurs, business people, researchers, academics and investors.

ITENE Research Center supports this event with others like the packaging company Tecnicarton, BBVA bank, the phone company Vodafone, or technology company Sony.

Some of the issues covered will be the use of drones, the technologies used in smart cities, gamification, 3D printing or augmented reality. Some of the experts that participates in EmTech are Jason Pontin, MIT's Technology Review editor, which will present the 10 most important technologies of 2014; Marcelo Coelho, designer and researcher in the Fluid Interfaces Group at MIT Media Lab; Kathleen Kennedy, president of MIT Enterprise Forum; or Stephen Webber, Head of Music Technology Innovation at Berklee College School of Music in Valencia, among others.

This is the second edition in Valencia and the fourth in Spain. Joaquin Rivers, CEO in Industry and Director at the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE), considered that carrying out EmTech in this city "is an opportunity to display the world all our innovative talent and, at the same time, to show Valencia as a model of technological development in the Mediterranean and Europe".

Moreover, during the conference will take place the Spanish Innovators Awards Under 35 ceremony that recognize the researchers and entrepreneurs with the brightest ideas and highest impact in Spain.
